Two Leaders, Two Plans. One High Tax, One Low.

Stephen Harper has low tax plan and will complete our economic recovery. Cutting the GST was only the beginning of Stephen Harper’s plan to keep taxes down. He’s cut taxes more than 120 times, saving the average Canadian family $3,000 a year.

By contrast, Michael Ignatieff–a self-described “tax and spend liberal”–has a high tax agenda that will kill jobs and set families back. He boasted that he was the father of the Liberal Carbon Tax. He admitted, “we’ll have to raise taxes.” He refuses to rule out a GST hike. And Ignatieff is calling for a $6 billion tax increase on job creating business. Just recently, the President of Ignatieff’s Liberal Party said, “When Tories say we’re raising taxes, damned right we are!”. Michael Ignatieff even voted for an iPod Tax of up to $75.

The Conservative Party on Border Security

Canada welcomes those who come to build a better future for themselves and their families. But our openness does not extend to those who abuse our generosity. Stephen Harper has a plan to stop those who try to jump the queue ahead of those who play by the rules.

By contrast, Michael Ignatieff–backed by the Bloc Québécois and NDP–oppose tougher sentences for human smugglers. They oppose temporarily detaining illegal migrants. Ignatieff isn’t serious about border security.
