Today the Canadian Press quotes Michael Ignatieff as admitting that he would form a coalition government if given the opportunity following the next election.
This is exactly what we have been saying — and the Liberals have been denying — for 18 months.
Finally Michael Ignatieff has come clean about his plan.
Our response is that Michael Ignatieff’s plan remains unacceptable to Canadians:
- It’s not acceptable to ignore the election result and install a party and leader rejected by the voters.
- It’s not acceptable to give the NDP co-management of the economy.
- It’s not acceptable to share power with a political party committed to the break-up of this country.
The coalition plan is further proof that Michael Ignatieff is not in it for Canadians. He’s just in it for himself.
