More Proof Canada’s Economic Action Plan is working

Today, the OECD predicted that Canada’s economic growth will, by a wide margin, lead all G-7 countries this year.

We are not surprised.  Just look at the facts.
  • In January, GDP grew 0.6%, the biggest monthly increase since December 2006. Canada has now benefited from five consecutive months of economic growth.
  • Also in January manufacturing sales rose, the seventh increase in eight months.
  • In February, employment increased by nearly 21,000 jobs, lowering the unemployment rate to 8.2%.  Since July 2009, Canada has created almost 160,000 new jobs.
  • The global accounting firm KPMG has just ranked Canada the most competitive industrialized country for job creators.
  • And according to the Canadian Federation of Independent Business, business confidence among Canada’s small and medium-sized businesses is at its highest level in five years.
Canada’s Economic Action Plan: creating jobs, fostering growth, investing in infrastructure.

Compare that to the Opposition’s plan to raise the GST, impose a carbon tax, and hike job-killing business taxes.
